Did you sign anything with that tenant broker or give a deposit? cyof means "collect your own fee" and is what listing brokers post on listings so other brokers with clients know that they would have to collect a fee from their client (prospective tenant...aka you).

The apartment will go to whomever the listing broker likes since this agent/broker has a relationship with the landlord; and a second broker only adds paperwork to an already overloaded system. Also, keep in mind that the CYOF broker you saw the apartment with - unless he or she is self-employed - has a boss.
